La Seconde Guerre mondiale se termine officiellement en Europe le 8 mai 1945, à 23h01, au lendemain de la capitulation sans condition de l'Allemagne nazie.

Le général Alfred Jodl signe dans la nuit du 7 au 8 mai, à 2h 41, la capitulation sans condition de l'Allemagne.

La fin véritable de la seconde guerre mondiale n'a lieu que le 2 septembre 1945, près de quatre mois plus tard, avec la capitulation du Japon suite aux deux explosions atomiques de Hiroshima et Nagasaki, les 6 et 9 août 1945.

The Second World war ends officially in Europe on May 8th, 1945, at 11:01 pm, after the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany.

The general Alfred Jodl signs at night from 7 till 8 May, at 2:41 am, the unconditional surrender of Germany.

The real end of the second world war takes place only on September 2nd, 1945, about four months later, with the surrender of Japan further to both atomic explosions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on August 6th and 9th, 1945.
